Visioning is a tool I use in most aspects of my life, including health, relationships and business, and it can be life-transforming. What I mean by visioning is putting yourself mentally into your desired future, into the life that you want to live. It's visioning the future as if it is the present. A bit like daydreaming, but more focused.
Visioning can be a very important motivator and driver in manifesting the reality of your business. If you're like me, starting your own business has rewards that you imagine as the results of success. If it's living in your dream house that you associate with ultimate success, imagine yourself living there, but then take it a couple steps further. First, instead of just imagining it, start journaling your thoughts. This does two things: it helps you stay in the moment and it is a physical copy of your dreams that you can refer to later and further develop. Start out with a phrase something like, "I am so content and at peace in my life. My business is bringing in money and clients and I've moved into my dream home where I spend my days [fill in the blanks]." For me it would be [working on my home business]. Pay attention to the small details. Take yourself on a tour through your home that is a result of your hard work, noticing things from the beautiful stained glass windows to the plush designer sofas. Take yourself on a tour of the pool, or the garden, or on a drive in your car. FEEL as if you are actually there.
The point of this exercise is to create intentions. Intentions create things. There is no doubting this. It has been scientifically proven that thoughts have frequencies and can be measured. You cannot create anything without first having an intention. It's amazing how many people forget this when setting out to start their own business. Instead of intentions, their thoughts become questions. "Can I succeed as my own boss?" "Does this online business idea have a chance?" Questions are not going to drive results. Intentions are.
As I set out on this adventure to find my true calling in the form of my ultimate business ... the one that will lead me to my dream house and beyond. I will use visioning as often as I can. It is one of many ways I will stay focused, in the moment and to encourage my self to succeed. I will continue to share in this blog other motivational tools I use as I go along. Happy visioning!
